Jaeyong Jung DDS, Jihyun Lee DDS
Dr. Jaeyong Jung and Dr. Jihyun Lee are general dentists and graduates from New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to attending NYU, Dr. Jung and Dr. Lee got their masters in Biomedical Science from Barry University in 2009. After graduation they both worked in Connecticut. They purchased this practice from Dr. Sharon Chen in 2017 and have been making improvements to the office since.
Dr. Jung and Dr. Lee believe that a trip to our office does not have to be a painful experience. JNL Dental prides itself in being a true family dental care practice and the doctors enjoy working with patients of all ages – from children, to adults, to senior citizens.
The doctors are experienced in treating a wide range of oral diseases and regularly attend continuing education courses to educate themselves in the latest techniques and dental technologies. They regularly provide restorative treatment to repair damaged teeth, as well as cosmetic treatment to give patients beautiful smiles. They can perform root-canal treatments with skill and efficiency and are specially trained in placing dental implants. Additionally, they are certified providers of Invisalign and proud members of the American Dental Association.
Dr. SooWoo Kim
Dr. Soowoo Kim is a Board certified periodontist. He is currently holding a lecturer position at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Tufts School of Dental Medicine. He was previously served as a Program Director of Pre-doctoral Periodontology at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed his periodontology training and Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) in oral biology from the same institution. He also has a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Kim is a recipient of the Outstanding Young Mentors Award & Dean’s Community Service Award from Harvard Medical School. He was selected as a presidential scholar from Harvard University and is a past recipient of AAP Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology and Young Investigator Award from the International Association of Dental Research. He is a diplomate of American Academy of Periodontology. He provides wide range of periodontal procedures from classical treatments to contemporary treatments, including implants (all on four or six full arch restorations, computer guided surgery, etc.), hard and soft tissue grafting with regenerative materials, and much more. He has been very active in community outreach projects to Nicaragua, Colombia, Dominican Republic, and Haiti. He built a fully functional dental clinic for short term mission trips in Haiti. He is involved in implementing a mobile clinic concept in rural part of Haiti.
Meet Our Hygienists
Lisa, RDH
Lisa received her dental hygiene degree as well as her local anesthesia permit on May 2022 from Regis College in Weston, MA. She grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Her strongest motivation for being a dental hygienist is that every day she knows she will be making a positive impact by helping people with their oral health needs. Being a hygienist has allowed her to Educate patients about the importance of oral health and how to care for their mouths. Her dedication to patient care, overall dental health, and education on oral health has always been her priority.
Apart from work, Lisa enjoys exploring the city and new restaurants and spending quality time with the ones she loves.
Paul Tran, Lead Hygienist
JPaul is the Head Dental Hygienist at JNL Family Dental, where his compassionate and caring approach stems from his strong upbringing and core family values. Graduating with magna cum laude honors in dental hygiene studies from the State University of New York at Binghamton, Paul continued his academic journey at UCONN, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and Neurobiology.
Driven by a passion for continuous improvement, Paul consistently acquires new skills to tackle cutting-edge clinical procedures while maintaining a kind and gentle chairside manner. With over 10 years of experience in dentistry, Paul has expanded his scope of practice, excelling in various areas from pediatric dentistry to utilizing Diode Laser in periodontal therapy treatment.
In addition to his expertise in dentistry, Paul finds joy in activities such as Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, and traveling the world with his wife, Derika.
Thip Malayphone, Hygienist
Vatsana Malayphone (Thip) graduated from Regis College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Dental Hygiene and minor in Business Management in 2022, as a student she was the treasurer of the class of 2022 and was awarded with the Professional award in Preventive Oral Health Care upon graduating. Vatsana’s dental career started 12 years as a Certified Dental Assistant at a Community Health Center. She is currently pursuing to become a Public Health Dental Hygienist to continue to provide oral education to the community. As a hygienist her goal is to educate her patients towards the proper techniques in preventive oral health care. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family.
